We like to have contact with our clients by email, phone or face-to-face when possible, but by having this initial information first, it can really speed up the process.

Purpose Statement:

It is essential to define the purpose of the website as one of the first steps in the planning process. A purpose statement should show focus based on what the website will accomplish and what the users will get from it. A clearly defined purpose will help the rest of the planning process as the audience is identified and the content of the site is developed. Setting short and long term goals for the website will help make the purpose clear and plan for the future when expansion, modification, and improvement will take place.

Documents:

Second, put together some documents for your website. We prefer the following formats (xxx).

1. Biography & Photograph
2. Clinic Location, Contact Information, Directions (if nessesary), Clinic Hours & Days
3. About your clinic (front page of website), Philosophy, Any images you would specifically like
4. Testimonials (optional)
5. Links (link URL & short one line description, optional)

Choose a Domain Name:

Your domain name is the address of your website (our domain name is www.chinesemedicinewebsites.com [7]). To find if a domain name is free visit DomainTools [8]and search the domain name you would like. If it shows no results, then it is free. If it show results, then someone else has already registered the domain name. Don't forget to try .com .net .org .us .ca

When you order your website, we can register your domain for you (at no extra cost), or, you may register your own domain name and direct it to our servers if you know how.

Images:

We will populate your website with images for you, however, if you have any images you would like specifically, please let us know. If you have specific pages for those images, again, let us know.

Theme:

Our website system, is a content management system, which allows you, the end user, to change or add content on your website easily. Because of this, content management systems (CMS) run themes. This theme allows each page of your site to have a consistent looks and feel. Basically, the theme sets out the frame work for your website.

Choosing a theme:

When choosing a theme, look first to the general layout out of the theme. Does it have a header image or a space for a logo? Do you like how the menu bars look? Is the menu bar on the right, left top or bottom? (Some themes support multiple menu bar locations, just ask us). Do you like how wide the theme is?

When choosing a theme. don't choose a theme for its colors or images. Colors, the header images or logos can be customized for your site. Within every theme there is a certain amount of flexibility

Website Colors:

Some clients have strong opinions about the color of their websites, and understandably so! You can be involved as you would like to be, however, the more specific you are, the closer your site may be to your vision. Remember, each computer and browser displays each color a little differently. To choose a color, visit this website [10], choose the color you want, and write down the color number. Or this website [11] has a nice color blender. If you don't have a preference, then we can choose the colors we feel best fit your site. Remember to write down the #000000 number of the colors you like.
